Description:

Designed for aasp members, this webinar focuses on what a shifting regulatory and economic landscape means for advancement services operations—from gift acceptance and processing to data governance, reporting, and vendor oversight. We’ll translate key updates under H.R. 1 / Public Law 119-21 (including changes affecting charitable deductions and endowment excise taxes) into practical impacts for receipting, acknowledgments, campaign reporting, and advancement CRM/finance workflows. We’ll also cover what the Corporate Transparency Act may require for affiliated entities, highlight emerging state regulation of online fundraising platforms and digital solicitation rules (and the controls needed to manage portals, apps, and cause-marketing partners), and discuss heightened scrutiny tied to terrorism/foreign-influence concerns and related due diligence

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the advancement services impacts of H.R. 1 / Public Law 119-21 changes
  • Translate key Corporate Transparency Act considerations into practical governance and finance workflow questions for affiliated entities
  • Assess risk and required controls for online fundraising platforms, digital solicitation, and commercial co-ventures
