In the finale of our four-part series, we’ll dive into a timely conversation on what does AI mean for the future of work within the philanthropy community. How do we see our work changing, our careers changing, our teams changing? Our panel will address the following questions (and provide insights on):

2. What types of new positions will we see in the nonprofit sector within the next year, two years, or five years? (ie. AI Wrangler? Prompt Engineer?)

Moderator: Vidya Kagan, Director of Development Services, Menlo School

Vidya Kagan has worked in development for 20 years, specifically in higher education and independent schools. She started her career in Harvard Law School’s development office, where she was responsible for annual giving, reunion fundraising, volunteer management, donor relations, and events.  At Noble & Greenough School, she served as the Director of Annual Giving for 3 years and as the Director of Major Gifts & Campaigns for 2 years. Her responsibilities included leadership solicitations, campaign planning, and volunteer management. She joined Menlo School’s development team in 2013 and is responsible for advancement services, which includes their Salesforce implementation and use, prospect research, and gift processing. Vidya has volunteered for and presented at many industry conferences and webinars, and has written articles related to data, databases, and research. She has collaborated with iWave, Salesforce, Cloud for Good, aasp, CASE, AFP, and Women in Development (Boston, MA).

Amy Bronson, Associate Vice President, Advancement Resources and Strategic Talent Management, Boston University

A national leader and award-winning pioneer in the field of Talent Management, Amy has spent 25 plus years contributing to the success of fundraising both on the frontline and behind the scenes. She has a remarkable ability to help development professionals make the right career moves and achieve success for their organization's mission. She has touched the lives of hundreds of professionals and her impact can be seen by the increasing level of professionalism in the advancement industry as well as through the success of the institutions that she's worked for, which include Harvard Law School and Boston College. Currently managing talent, finance, and operations for a team of 265 at Boston University, Amy has served in leadership roles and presented at numerous conferences and other professional organizations both locally and nationally. A graduate of the University of Michigan, she lives in Milton, MA.

Nathan Chappell, Senior Vice President, DonorSearch AI

As a thought leader, public speaker, inventor and award-winning author, Nathan is one of the world's foremost experts on the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and philanthropy.  Nathan serves as Chief AI Officer of DonorSearch AI, where he leads the AI deployments for many of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations. Nathan founded Fundraising.AI as a global collaboration with a focus on Responsible and Beneficial AI for the Global Fundraising Community.  He is co-author of the award-winning book, The Generosity Crisis: The Case for Radical Connection to Solve Humanity’s Greatest Challenges. Nathan serves on the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), the OpenAI Users Forum, the AI for Good Foundation and the Forbes technology Council. He holds a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from University of Notre Dame, an MBA from University of Redlands, a certificate in International Economics from University of Cambridge, a certificate in Artificial Intelligence from MIT and a certificate in Philanthropic Psychology from the Institute of Sustainable Philanthropy.

Mark Walcott, PhD, Assistant Vice President, Technology and Business Intelligence, Emory University

Dr. Mark Walcott has more than 20 years of experience in technology-related and advancement services roles focused on data analytics, data management, and technological innovation. He serves as the Assistant Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence within the division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement at Emory University. Dr. Walcott actively speaks on a variety of topics and has served on Blackbaud's Higher Education Executive Advisory Board, Multicultural Leadership Institute (MCLP) Board, and other organizations focused on community and technological advancement. As a Vice President of aasp, Dr. Walcott is focused on continuing to build the profession through the strategic growth of aasp.
